Today was the first time i stood on rollerskates. I was originally gonna take the bus and then the tram to a container outside a supermatket and "dumpster", (take food that was thrown away). I got the idea to try out my friends inline roller scates and take them to the bus, or at least try them out, because i've never skated on rollerskates before. I asked my friend and he was OK with me using them. I put them on and instantly noticed how easy it was to stand on them. I went outside and without any problems managed to skate down the road. I took a scarf with me that i put over my headphones so that they wouldn't get damaged, because it was snowing a tiny bit.

I put on the album "Organized Konfusion" by Organized Konfusion. When reached the busstop i didn't wanna take the bus, it was so easy to rollerskate so i figured that i would go for a coupple busstops over a big bridge to the central city side. Rollerskating feels a little bit like skiing. Roads turn into snow-slopes. I know how to skate on a board and love to longboard through the city, but rollerskating is 2-3 times, not only faster, but also energy efficient. The energy per kilometer on rollerskates is about 2-3 times less than longboarding, and it's even less than biking on a heavy bike! So, rollerskating is one of the the most efficient ways a person can travel for free, the only thing that is faster is a carbon-fibre frame bike (3 times faster than inline rollerscates), but with rollerscates you can go on busses and trams which you can't do with a bike in most european cities.

As i reached the large bridge that takes me from the nothern part of town to the south, where the centrum is located the song "Open Your Eyes" starts. I overlook the city skyline on both sides of the water to my right as i, without any difficulties whatsoever go up the bridge. Lots of blinking lights and two large skyscrapers could be seen. One very large and new. They are currently building it and in the daytime you can se it being constructed, now, at nighttime, it's just a bunch of flashing lights. The other scyscraper which is partly red has a large blue light at the top.

I reached a tram stop close to the centrum of the city. I saw that my friend sent me a message, asking me if i was gonna join him and a few others as we talked about. I tried to call him but he didn't answer. On the tram i read a book.

After exiting the tram i put on the legendary album "Endtroducing" by DJ Shadow, as if made for being listened to while rollerskating i put my best foot forwards as the first song, "Best Foot Forward" started playing. The few flakes of snow that fell before had now stopped and i removed the scarf from my headphones and tied it around my neck. I was on my my way to the container.

Once there, i paused the music which was at the second song, brought forth my flashlight and hung my headphones around my neck. When dumpstering, you want to watch out for security guards. I took of the roller-skates, held the flashlight with my mouth and lowered myself into the container where my socks landed on a bread and a cartoon box that was laying on top of the large pile of food. In the container i found seven small cartoon packs of kidney-beans that expired on the 5th of february and two plastic packs of four blueberry muffins in each that expired on the 10th. More than that i didn't take because i didn't want my backpack to get too heavy when i was gonna rollerscate.

At this moment my friend calls me. "Hi!" I say. "Where are you??". "I'm inside of a container, dumpstering". "Ok, we're at this place but we might move to another soon". "Ok, send an sms if you move, on my way!". I exit the dumpster and start skating back towards the tram stop.

Right as i reach the stop a tram arives with the correct destination, i get on the train, sit in the back, but my bag on the floor and lay back overlooking the large panoramic window in the back of the train as the rails and flashing lights pass by. The song "Changeling" Plays.

I try to relax but notice that I am unable to relax totally. I think it has to do with the fact that there are people everywhere with their phones and it stresses me. I exit the train and skate to the bar where i was supposed to meet my friends. I'm there before my friend, Ed, who i had a phonecall with earlier. I call Elli and ask her come down and meet me because i don't want to enter the bar by myself with roller scates. When entering, a guard tells me that i have to take them of so i go out, take them off and enter with socks.

The bar is called "Soho" but inside there is a painting of the London subway, and a picture of girls posing. Once at the table i got introdused to two friends to Elli. A girl and a boy. The girl has black hair, sparkling eyes, a wide smile and doesn't want to stop talking about sex. When i first sat down she looked at me, bottom to top and started to interview me like a police officer. How long have you been living here? Where where you living before? What where you doing there? What is your job? What have you been doing before you came to this bar?

I answered that I've been rollerscating to here and pointed at the rollerskates. She told me that she's been rollerscating on scates that has four wheels (like a miniature car), but wants to learn inlines, like the ones i skate. She thinks that inlines are much better than skates with four wheels. I say ok and remove the headphones from my neck. There is no place fo me to put my headphones and i don't want beer to spill on them or anybody pushing them on the floor so they get scratches because i find them very valuable so i hold them in my lap.

My friend Ed enters the scene. Ed is probably my best friend and he often gives me music and movie tips. Ed is the guy that Introduced me to Endtroducing, and a lot of the music that i like the most and we both like the same kind of music. I don't know anyone who has a taste in music, as similar to me as Ed. Yo, ed says and everyone greets him. Ed's going downstairs to order a drink and i ask if he can get one for me as well if i pay him.

I sit quiet and wait. The woman says something about sex and the guy looks like a robot. Elli is wearing a neclase of large white marbles that almost looks broken, like a part of it is hanging down like a fashion feature, a broken-like style. Ed comes back up and handles me my alcohol free ginger beer that i asked him for.

I show Ed the rollerscates and he is very amazed. I tell him that I've been listening to Endtroducing and that the album is almost as if made for rollerscates, in one song there is a sample of a woman that says something about rollerscating and the first songs name is "Best Foot Forward" which reminds me of skateboarding, or rollerscating. Ed now has to make it very clear how much he loves Endtroducing by stating that it is in fact one of the best albums ever made, as he has said many times before, and i agree.

Ed says that i can put my headphones in his bag. All five people at the table conversate. After about five minutes i notice that the ginger beer that i am dring is not alcohol-free. I show it to Ed and ask him what the fuck is this. Oh shit he says, i told the bartender that i wanted alcohol-free ginger beer. I say that it's OK, I stopped drinking alcohol in december 2022 and one time doesn't matter.

After some time Ed says that he is so happy that he, me and Elli all live in the same city now, we can all make music together. "That's a really good idea!" I say. "Let's make music together us three". "When should we do it? Next week?" I ask. "Sure", sais Ed. "So, you don't want to make music?", i tell Elli. "Yes i do, let's do it", she says. "Let's go next week", i say. Ed, Elli and a few others already play in a punk band. Ed is the drummer and Elli is the vocalist who writes and composes most of the songs.

After some time we're hedding to the next place; a larger club like bar. Ed offers me to borrow a second pair of shoes that he has in his bag while we walk to there. I don't stay at this place for very long. There's poeple everywhere and I'm constantly afraid that somebody is going to bump into my bag where the food and my headphones are, and damage the headphones.

I exit and put on my headphones and the rollerscates. The second half of Endtroducing is playing.

I skate through alleys of small bicykle and walking asfalt roads, lit up by yellow lamps and surrounded by trees that are groing between the small path and the two streets next to the alley, with their parralell traffic directions. The song "Mutual Slump" starts playing, in which there is a sample of a woman saying something about rollerscates. The skates take me forfards quickly and easely. Even though it's my first time roller skating i am not tired nor have any feet pain yet. I get lost two times because i only want to orientate by the large scyscraper that is being constructed on my side of the bridge. When i finally reach a busstop where my bus stops i have already listened to all of Endtroducing and half of Souls Of Mischief's "23 'til infinity".

While sitting on the bus I feel very happy. I feel like i have great friends, great places on the internet that i know and a lot to look forwards to. I smile and close my eyes but this euphoria only lasts for a very short time before a zombie-looking dude sits down at the seat across mine and pulls out his phone like an erect penis. I try to forget about the person and let him do what he wants, but i can't stop feeling like he sends me signals of hate, or question-signals of why i look the way i do and if i am planning to give him a blowjob.

Eventually a woman, who sat at the most-front seat in the bus, where there are no seats across from, leaves. Quick as lightning i roll down the buss and sit down. Alone. The title-track "23 'til infinity" starts playing while I'm looking at the street in front of the bus.
